Whether it’s patrolling the beach or just enjoying the club facilities, there’s something for everyone at Pacific Palms SLSC.
We value members who patrol the beach as well as members who do not patrol the beach and undertake other important activities that support the Club.
Joining is Quick & Easy
- New members go to Surf Life Saving Australia and select Pacific Palms SLSC as the club you want to join.
- You will then be invited to join the Members Area where you will have access to all the different memberships on offer.

Why Join Pacific Palms
Becoming a member of our SLSC opens doors to transformative experiences that not only enhance your life but also safeguard the lives of those around you. Imagine being the hero in an emergency, equipped with Life Saving first aid skills applicable both on and off the beach.
Not a fan of the water? That's not an issue!
Our club values diverse talents and offers a variety of crucial support roles, including:

- Maintenance activity (gear steward, vehicle steward, mowing lawns etc)

Here is the process to sign up.
We warmly invite new members to become part of our club, pending the Management Committee's endorsement. To join, all prospective members must first set up an account with Surf Life Saving Australia and complete the membership application process online. For guidance on establishing a Members Area Account.
- Start your journey with us by deciding what category of membership you wish to join - Patrolling, Associate or General (social)
- Establish the associated fee by clicking on the 'Membership Fees' tab above
- Start your journey with us by applying online here.
- After submitting your application as an individual you will receive a confirmation screen showing your unique tracking ID.
- A confirmation email will follow, providing a link to monitor your application's status, which will be reviewed for approval by our club.
- The next step involves paying the membership fee for your application to proceed.
- Before we can finalize your membership, we'll need scanned copies of IDs for you and any family members included. These should be sent to our Registrar's email (registrar@pacificpalmsslsc.org.au).
Membership will only be confirmed once the online application is fully completed, IDs are verified, and fees are settled.
Membership Categories
There are nine memberships:
1. Active (Active Patrol Member (15-18) or 18+). Shall be a Bronze Medallion holder and;
i. Fulfil patrol and Club obligations (100% roster).
ii. Qualify in an annual proficiency test unless the Member has obtained their Bronze Medallion in that season.
2. Award. Persons over the age of 13 years who hold an SLSA award of one, or more, of the following qualifications: Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), Radio award/s, Resuscitation Certificate, Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, First Aid Certificate (or equivalent), or UAV pilot (who must be over the age of 16 years). Award Members will be called upon to perform patrol (100% roster) and/or other club obligations within the ability of their qualifications.
3. Associate Member. Persons not directly participating in Life Saving activities (Patrols) however is associated with undertaking Club social or volunteer activities. Volunteer activities can include; gear steward, vehicle steward, bar, mowing, board member or other Official etc.
4. General Member. Persons who may or may not hold an SLSA award. General Members shall not have Affiliated Club voting rights unless elected to office or position which is provided with voting rights by the relevant Club constitution.
5. Life Member. May be granted to Members who have rendered distinguished, or special service.
6. Junior Activity Member. Shall be a person who shall be a minimum age of five (5) years up to a maximum age of thirteen (13) years and such person shall be required to gain the relevant Surf Education Certificate for that person's age group.
7. Cadet Member (13-15). Shall be a Member of the age qualification as defined in SLSA's Manuals (ie under 15) and, who has obtained the Surf Rescue Certificate or has passed an annual proficiency test.
8. Long Service Member. May be granted by a Club to Members who have completed ten (10) years active service or to Members who have completed eight (8) years active service plus four (4) years reserve active service. Such Members may be exempted from all patrol obligations and may be granted other special privileges of Membership as provided in their Club constitutions.
9. Nipper Parent. Shall be a member who is a nipper parent or guardian who holds no other awards that would deem them to be in the Active or Award category.
Gym access is free for Active & Award Members who achieve 100% roster in previous year, $175/year for Associate Members and $350 for General Members.
Membership Fees (1 July 2024 - 30 June 2025)
Patrolling (100% roster) for the season:
- Active member - 18 years & over: Free
- Cadet (13-15): Free
Casual Patrolling or undertaking other club activities for the season: Undertaking Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue certificate, first season patrolling or Associate Member doing regular activities for the club (bar, mowing, board member, official etc):
- Associate Member Fee: $45
- Patrolling (Casual) Fee: $45
- Cadet (13-15): $45
NB. Option to add on annual Gym Fee for additional $175 (June to July)
Junior Activity (Nipper 5-13) related:
- Nipper Fee (1st Child): $60*
- Nipper Fee (subsequent children): $50*
- Nipper Parent Fee: $45
General (social) member:
- General Member Fee: $90
NB. Option to add on annual Gym Membership for additional $350 (June to July)
Life Member: Free
Other Fees
- Key deposit (new or replacement): $50 (refundable upon return of FOB)
- Education Fee General Member: $40
- Education Fee Community Member: $20
*Service NSW Active Kids Voucher includes membership, rashie and cap.
Important Nipper related Notes:
- A parent/guardian must be a member for Nipper registration.
- Proof of age required for all new Nipper members.
- Children can join Nippers from age 5, adhering to SLSA age guidelines.
- Families actively participating in SLS activities can include an additional non-active member as a General member.
